Restaurant Studio Frantzén at Harrods

Star Chef, Average Experience.

We stayed at The Berkeley, and since Harrods was conveniently on our way back from visiting the Wildlife Photography exhibition at the Natural History Museum, we decided to stop by Studio Frantzén. As food enthusiasts, trying out Björn Frantzén’s establishment was a no-brainer. Despite the sunny day, it was too chilly to enjoy the terrace.

We were not particularly impressed by the service or the food. We tried the dish Japan Vs Sweden and were sorry to say that Sweden lost. We chose the side of Hasselback potatoe, which turned out to be just one (!) potato scored on top and deep-fried, costing a whopping £8. How did the most expensive potato taste? We did not finish it; it was rock hard on the outside.  We did not know whether to laugh, cry or send it back.

There were some enjoyable Swedish elements in the restaurant, such as Swedish words on the drink menu, paintings, and the meat knife from Mora.

We think that Swedes and some foodies will visit Studio Frantzén just because of the name, and of course, the trendy crowd is likely to hang around on the terrace during spring and summer.
