Culinary Journey at Vyn: Daniel Berlin’s Masterpiece

Our first visit to Vyn was during its grand opening night in October last year. It was a sublime experience. Read our first impressions of Vyn Restaurant from its grand opening here. This time, approaching Vyn from the inland, we were greeted by a stunning view of the houses against the backdrop of the sea. It was on a Saturday, and they only served lunch, but rest assured, the menu is the same as for dinner. We also booked a room and made a reservation at The Food & Wine Bar for a light dinner that evening, where breakfast is also served.

This is how to experience Daniel Berlin’s Vyn. It’s not just a four-hour meal; it’s a holistic Österlen experience that relaxes you to your core. The tranquil, peaceful environment changes your state of mind, making it the perfect setting for Daniel and his team to work their magic.

We were pleasantly surprised to find that Vyn had raised the bar even higher since our last visit (how was that possible?!). The first time was excellent, with perfection in every dish, top-quality ingredients, and perfect service. It was one of the best Michelin restaurants we’ve visited, deserving of its two stars from the start.

Now, Daniel Berlin has knocked it out of the park. The concept and vision are clearer, and every aspect, from flavours to service, has turned up a notch or two. In our book, it’s Sweden’s best, surpassing even Frantzén.

Green Asparagus – Sea Lettuce – Fermented Oats

Our hardcore foodie friend dining with us went so far as to call it Scandinavia’s best restaurant. Perhaps it was the superb wines talking, but the truth is, Vyn is simply one of the best restaurants in the world. As M says, it’s worth a special journey.

Without a doubt, this is a three-star establishment. Anyone who disagrees is in deep food denial. We’re also confident Vyn will soon show up in the “beauty contest” of the 50 Best Restaurants.

Classic line-up

As we departed the next day, we couldn’t help but feel immense appreciation. Kudos to Daniel and his team for creating such a remarkable and memorable dining adventure! Read our first impressions of Vyn Restaurant from its grand opening here.
