Review Restaurant Jordnær 2025

Jordnær: A Danish Masterpiece

It had been two years since our last visit to Jordnær. Back then, it held two Michelin stars. Now it has three. Does it show? Absolutely. It was outstanding then—now just better in every way.

Jordnær means “down to earth,” but what arrives on the plate is anything but ordinary. The flavours were bolder, more layered, more complex. The presentation, even more refined. Some dishes looked like miniature garden masterpieces, like stepping into Jordnær’s own secret garden.

Precision

The scallop dish was a work of art, served over gooseberry and just the faintest hint of rose.

Each dish was not only stunning but equally delicious. The level of precision was remarkable. You could feel the calm control behind every element.

Jordnær serves seafood and vegetable produce at the very highest level. Nothing unnecessary, nothing showy. Just flavour, technique, and balance.
At some point, we stopped talking and just nodded at each other. That kind of night.

Service That Reads the Room

The pacing was perfect throughout the evening. Still, dining at Jordnær is not just about the food, it is everything that surrounds it. Sneeze, and someone appears with a Kleenex box, placing it—along with a silver bowl for your napkin—neatly on your little purse table.

Need extra back support? They will bring a cushion before you even finish asking. Not that it is needed, the chairs are excellent, even for a long dinner.

Atmosphere

Then there is the atmosphere. Music plays softly from a vinyl record player, the album cover placed beside it. Like stepping into an old record store, the kind where they used to display what was playing—today’s pick, and somehow always the right one.

The dining room matches the mood—modest and intimate, with that quiet Scandinavian simplicity: white beams, wooden floors, fresh flowers. Elegant, but never trying too hard. The kind of space where you instantly feel comfortable.

And at the heart of it all, Tina. Warm, gracious, and always two steps ahead. She makes everyone feel at ease, watching the room with the kind of calm only possible when you know exactly what you are doing.

She is married to the chef, Eric, and we believe Jordnær would not be what it is without the two of them working side by side.

Jordnær does not need to shout. It simply whispers, “Remember me”—and you will.
