We booked The George for our last two nights in Scotland. It also has a great location, similar to The Balmoral, right at the beginning of George Street, near St. Andrew Square.
Initially, we booked the Ferrier Suite but were upgraded to the two-bedroom Sommerville Suite. On the second night, we understood why. They hosted a big wedding party; the whole hotel was filled with wedding guests, and they partied all night long. The first room was on the first floor, and the other suite was on the second floor. It maybe helped a little, but you could still hear them throughout the night. Why they did not tell us at check-in is strange. The only place to seek haven on that day was the Club Lounge.
And even there, there was a photo shoot of the wedding couple. Besides all that, we are not especially impressed with the hotel. Location-wise, it’s great. Le Petite Beefbar was okay. The Club Lounge was okay. The staff was okay. The concierge was okay. You get it, okay but not great or exceptional.

At the Club Lounge, it could be improved.
The Le Petite Beefbar is slightly better.
