On 18 January 1921 the bandmaster Charles Svendsen Stevns rolled six carts into the streets of Copenhagen. They stood on Rådhuspladsen, Nørrebros Runddel, Christians Torv, Gammeltorv, Nørreport and Vesterbros Torv. Three of those squares still have a working cart, and they are marked here.
There were more than four hundred carts in the city around 1950. Fewer than a hundred are left in the whole country. We have checked this guide as carefully as we can, but carts move, change hands and disappear. If something has changed, tell us.
