Review: Geranium

World's 50 Best - Geranium World's Best Restaurant 2022!

Geranium has changed the concept to a meat-free menu, except for some seashell dishes. Geranium also holds 3 Michelin stars.

Expectations

Of course, our expectations were much higher than the last time we visited. We are sorry to say that for us, it did not live up to our hopes with the new menu.

It was simply better before. We have no problem with a meat-free menu; we wanted more boldness in the flavors and more variety in the dishes, as most of them were served cold. To be frank, we couldn’t see the common thread in the dishes; they felt a little flat. The whole experience, including the food, service, wine pairing, and even the attitude, had changed. Hopefully, they won’t go completely down the Eleven Madison Park road.

You know when you can’t quite put your finger on it, but something is missing. We still remember the old dishes and often talk about them. Do you remember the Octopus dish? I loved the Razor Clam, and so on. They have stayed in our minds. However, when it comes to our last visit to Geranium, we can’t recall a single dish.
