King George has a perfect location at Syntagma Square, walking distance to most places. It is door to door with the big brother Grande Bretagne. Same owner, and you can sign your bill in both.
The room number has a K after it, so they know which one to charge. We chose King George, and it was a good call. The rooms are refurbished with some new paint. The air conditioning is brand new throughout the hotel and can compete with the Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi, Sweden.
The rooms are small, old-school, and nice. But soon they have to refurbish their bathrooms; they are a little too old-school. The hotel has panache; the service is like the old days and brilliant. This is one of the reasons to stay here. They treat you as if you are actually a guest. Not all hotels do so today.
King George has grace in its genes. Our minds go to the classic hotels in London, and then you know what we are talking about.
2 times within two weeks.
5 night in total.
First visit: 4 nights. Grand Suite.
Second visit: 1 night. Courtyard View, Deluxe Suite.
One, on the first stay. The room felt a little bit cramped.
Oh yes!
The roof top restaurant Tudor Hall.
Buffet and cook-to-order. And what to expect.
Slow!
The first time we had a room on the fourth floor facing Syntagma Square. There was noise, but it didn’t bother us. Grande Bretagne is closer to the busy street. Just saying.
The second time we stayed, there was an election speech in the evening at the square, and, to be frank, it was a little chaotic.
We chose a room facing the inner courtyard. Another thing is there are a lot of cruise ship guests at the time we stayed there.
And they wake up at 6:20 AM, slamming their doors. So let the hotel know beforehand if you want a silent room.
