Review: Le Gavroche

Farewell to a legend: La Gavroche bows out gracefully (2024)

La Gavroche, a true icon of fine dining in London, has now closed its doors. For decades, it set the standard for classic French cuisine and impeccable service. A place where traditions were honoured and memories made. Its legacy lives on as a cornerstone of British gastronomic history.

The Mayfair location will soon begin a new chapter under Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant group, with chef Matt Abé at the helm. While the Le Gavroche name stays with Michel Roux Jr., the site itself is set to continue its fine dining tradition—just under a different banner.

Review: Le Gavroche

Michel Roux Jr’s two Michelin-starred restaurant Le Gavroche

Classic French restaurant that has been serving up exquisite cuisine since 1967. It is run by a multi-generational family who have kept the old-school charm and traditions alive. From the moment we walked in, we loved it.

The service was impeccable, and the food was exceptional. La Gavroche is a must-visit for anyone looking for a true taste of classic French cuisine in London.
