Mount Lofty House - Sequoia
Our itinerary included spending a few days at Southern Ocean Lodge on Kangaroo Island, with plans to stay only one night at Mount Lofty House outside Adelaide.
However, before we left Sweden, we received the terrible news that almost the entire island had been burned down in the fires, including Southern Ocean Lodge.
As a result, we booked extra nights at the hotel and upon check-in, we were pleasantly surprised with our accommodation. We had originally booked a suite in the main building, expecting it to be outdated like Lake House. However, we were upgraded to the Escarpment Suite at Sequoia – a brand new addition consisting of 14 suites that had opened in September 2020. It was only a two-minute walk from the main house and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in the wine region and at Cleland Wildlife Park.
