Review: St Regis Rome

St Regis: A blood pressure experience in Rome.

Our stay at this hotel, which was supposed to be the grand finale of our engagement holiday, turned out to be a stressful experience that left us with high blood pressure. It’s clear that the hotel lacks leadership and organization.

While the rooms were all brand new and beautifully decorated, there were too many service errors to ignore. One amusing example was the hot and cold water taps being labeled incorrectly in the bathroom, but this was just the tip of the iceberg. The whole hotel seemed to be suffering from mix-ups and miscommunications, and it often felt like we were in an episode of Fawlty Towers.

However, when we accidentally bumped into the GM while checking out and he asked about our stay, we shared our honest feedback. To our surprise, he immediately took action and reduced all our food and beverage bill. It was a nice gesture, but it would have been better if the hotel had gotten it right in the first place.

Room type

The Imperial double king room and the complimentary Junior suite were quite a contrast. While the Junior suite was spacious and comfortable, the Imperial rooms were surprisingly small, despite the deceiving pictures.
