Review: Vintage House and Hotel Villagio

Two Hotels in Yountville - Vintage House and Hotel Villagio

Both hotels belong to The Estate in Yountville. We had booked a suite for a couple of nights at the Vintage House. In short, we had to change the first room due to road noise. The next room had a strong smell, making it unbearable to stay in. We changed rooms again to a suite at The Villagio. They call themselves boutique hotels, but felt more like a 3-star hotel. However, the service and the management is five-star.

Both hotel reception areas are cozy and inviting. The Vintage House is worn down and ready for Halloween with spiderwebs all around. It’s a little better at The Villagio; the rooms are somewhat more modern and newer, but it’s still a 3-star hotel. Both hotels are in need of renovation.

If you don’t care much about your room and have to stay in Yountville, then the Villagio is a perfect spot. But… we don’t think there is a decent hotel in Yountville. We drove by Bardessino (it looked old) and Hotel Yountville, which we thought resembled a retirement home. If you want a luxury hotel Auberge du Soleil is a better choice and 15 minutes away with a car. Yountville is a super charming village, but there’s no need to sleep here.
