Vyn Restaurant: A New Culinary Haven.

Michelin states that for a restaurant to earn three stars, it must offer “exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey.” Nothing could be truer about Daniel Berlin’s new chapter when he created the restaurant Vyn between the small fishing villages Skillinge and Brantevik in the very south of Sweden.

We felt incredibly fortunate to secure a reservation for the grand opening. As we stepped into the restaurant, we were stunned by the restaurant’s beauty, flabbergasted by the food presented. How could this be the first day, yet the kitchen and service were flawless? It was as if they had been working together for years.

Langoustine gently cooked in brown butter.

What stands out at Vyn is, of course, the food. The journey began with a tantalizing snack – lightly cured Jim pike perch, a divine introduction to the culinary adventure. Followed up with warmed king crab, pork cheek, and local saffron hiding beneath its plate was Kalix löjrom, accompanied by caramelized celeriac scented with verbena.

And this was just the beginning. In total, we were treated to 18 delicious dishes.

What truly distinguishes Daniel Berlin and sets Vyn apart from other restaurants is his genuine and elevated approach to the culinary craft. It’s not just about achieving culinary perfection; it’s about infusing every dish with heart and soul. In our view, a restaurant can attain excellence, but it achieves legendary status only when the passion in the kitchen is evident in every bite.

It’s worth noting that Vyn Restaurant hasn’t earned any Michelin stars—yet.
