Review: Punk Royale
Restaurant Punk Royale is a crazy experience!
Located in the heart of Copenhagen, this Swedish restaurant distinguishes itself from the city’s numerous excellent dining options by incorporating a smoke machine, stroboscopic lights, and loud house music blasting from the speakers.
Guests are even spoon-fed generous portions of Oscietra caviar while pouring vodka from a gasoline jerry can, and the lobster tail and Foie-Gras are accompanied by syringes filled with Sauternes wine. The unique presentation continues with a hearing served in an ashtray topped with cigarette ashes. It’s a completely wild but delicious experience.
Punk Royale may not be suitable for everyone, but those willing to step out of their comfort zone will be rewarded with fantastic food. During our visit, the scorching weather in Copenhagen left me standing under the only air-conditioner next to the kitchen. Chef Joakim noticed my distress and was concerned about me passing out, so he kindly took me to the small freezer room in the cellar to cool off. This extra level of care for customers was truly appreciated.
