Rosewood Bangkok Review

Note: This review is based on our stay in April 2019 and has been revised for clarity and detail.

A Luxurious Escape in the Heart of the City.

Initially, we had no intention of spending our final days in  at the Rosewood Bangkok. We had settled into the Waldorf Astoria, but after just two nights, our stay at the Waldorf Astoria was, frankly, almost a disaster, which left us eager for a change. Our exceptional experience at Rosewood Phuket had set high expectations, and we were eager to see if this property could uphold the Rosewood legacy. Even though the hotel had just opened, the hotel operated with the precision of a seasoned establishment, seamlessly akin to the BMW that whisked us from our previous lodgings.

Rosewood’s residential-style approach to luxury hotels sets it apart from the competition, creating a paradigm shift in the industry. This innovative concept provides a personalised, home-like atmosphere that transcends traditional luxury hotel standards.

Upon arrival, we had booked the Manor Suite but were generously upgraded to the Rosewood Suite. This suite epitomised luxury with its sophisticated design, spacious layout, and state-of-the-art amenities. The air conditioning system was top-notch—silky smooth and utterly silent, ensuring our comfort in Bangkok’s sultry climate.

Our culinary journey at the Rosewood began at Lakorn European Brasserie, where we dined for both dinner and lunch. Each meal was a delightful affair, the restaurant offering an exquisite blend of European flavours, crafted with meticulous attention to detail. Breakfast was a semi-buffet setup, meeting our expectations with a satisfactory selection of both Western and Asian dishes.

A special mention must be made of the hotel’s Managing Director, Thomas Harlander, whose exceptional leadership has quickly established Rosewood Bangkok as a prominent name in the city’s luxury hotel scene. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the impeccable butler service. Attentive and proactive, our butler ensured every aspect of our stay was flawless.

The complimentary bottle of Billecart-Salmon Champagne in the room upon arrival added a charming touch, enhancing our overall experience.

One of the standout features of the Rosewood Bangkok is Bar Lennon’s, a distinctive bar inspired by mid-century home recording studios, located on the 30th floor. How many bars can boast around 6,000 vinyl discs? It’s a heaven for a music nerd! Which guests can play and experience as in the old days.

The bar also features a stylish cigar lounge accessible via a spiral staircase, and two elegant lounges flanking the main bar area. The ambience, combined with floor-to-ceiling windows offering breathtaking views of the Bangkok skyline, makes Lennon’s a must-visit destination within the hotel.
